The Arizona School Facilities Board chose Modular Technology to address the many challenges of this deficiency project, after witnessing the success of our design/build method at Lela Alston Elementary. They were so pleased with the Lela Alston project, that they were convinced our design/build method could solve what seemed to be unsolvable problems at this campus.

Since its entire campus was substandard and qualified for replacement under the SFB deficiency program, Pueblo Middle School  was prepared to relocate its population of 650 students and build a new school facility on its only playing field. While this would bring the campus up to code, hundreds of families would be affected and the sports and recreation programs  would be greatly modified, due to lack of open space. We were certain a more efficient and convenient solution for this deficiency project existed.

Without displacing  any students, we designed and constructed a massive 60,000 square-foot, two-story facility that could be added to the existing gymnasium, without using any of the neighboring play field. To de-emphasize the gymnasium’s plain features, we drew the viewer’s eye to the new attractive building, which features a parapet roofline, stucco exterior, brick wainscot, horizontal windows, and shade canopies.

The interior boasts:

  • 32 classrooms
  • a technical center
  • teachers' lounge
  • nurse's office
  • administrative area
  • conference
  • multi-purpose space/gym

Our design build method served as an efficient and successful solution to this school's special needs.
