This client came to Modular Technology with plans for a junior college facility that strove to architecturally match the higher education and technical expertise being offered through its educational programs. Boasting gigantic clerestory windows, soaring 21-foot ceiling heights, reveal edges, and dramatic standing seam metal roof profiles, the resulting 68,000 square-foot modular complex does just that. High-technology in the state-of-the-art computer lab meets comfort and style in the adjoining ceramics workshop that features recessed alcoves, a bright and airy floor plan, and even its own kiln. An interconnecting network of concrete sidewalks with custom metal canopies assures an attractive and functional relationship with neighboring buildings. Since the architectural plans were designed for either traditional or modular construction, our customer chose to go modular for the significant time and cost savings. However, the building plans had to then be "modularized" to accommodate our unique construction method. This was accomplished with no increase in the project timeline and no sacrifice to the structures' special architectural features. And, if the college's needs change in the future, all of the sections and modules can be dismantled and utilized in other areas or for other capacities.
