The Modular Technology relationship with Kingman Academy began when Charter Schools were first approved in 1996. Kingman Academy opened in a church that same year. The Academy grew and students were soon spread over various sites throughout Kingman. As the children progressed through middle school, Kingman Academy ran the risk of losing them. They needed a plan for consolidation & future growth as their students moved through the grades. However, funds were limited and new student populations were uncertain. Management at Kingman Academy formed a development team with Modular Technology as their design build partner. After analysis of their long and short-term needs and concerns, which included ownership of 5.5 acres, an immediate need for a middle school, and financial and space constraints, the solution was a combination of permanent & temporary buildings that could be expanded or relocated as the Academy’s needs changed. This initial campus included:
In 3 short months Kingman Academy, at last, had a home of its own! Business Manager, Brownell Hamlyn summed up her pleasure, “The classrooms were what we expected and we are very happy with the administration building. The multipurpose building...is fantastic. Had it not been for ... the ability of your team to put together a package for a school campus laid out exactly as we envisioned, we would never have been able to afford this project.” Over the next 2 years, Kingman Academy of Learning’s student base grew. They continued to work with Modular Technology to expand their middle school and add an intermediate school to continue to fill a need in the market. These projects totaled 19,000 square feet and included:

In 2004 when Kingman Academy students were ready for high school, management called their long time design build partner, Modular Technology. The high school campus would be the largest yet at 44,500 square feet and would, once again, be an accelerated construction schedule — 3 months from permit to occupancy. Modular Technology did not disappoint — school opened for students August 16, 2004 when the staff welcomed 350 students with a state of the art campus that included:
Business Manager, Brownell Hamlyn, again expressed her pleasure in dealing with the Modular Technology team: “All of your people are pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable...thank you for the guidance and support your company has provided...as well as a quality product. We are in your debt.” In a short time span of 10 years, Kingman Academy of Learning is now offering pre-kindergarten through grade 12 and will graduate their first senior class in May 2005. Modular Technology is proud to have been a partner in reaching this milestone.
