Modular Technology is proud to have constructed this enormous 40,500 square-foot school for the Isaac School District, especially since it is the first building in the state of Arizona procured through the new School Facilities Board via the new legislature-approved design/build delivery method. This new project delivery system allows districts to avoid the costly design-bid-build process and receive funding to procure buildings from cost-efficient design/build firms. Located at Osborn and 40th Avenue on a 5-acre site, this educational facility meets and, in most cases, exceeds all SFB guidelines. Using modular steel construction not only allowed the district to construct a brand new school for a cost that fell within its budgetary constraints, but the energy-efficiency features incorporated into the schools design and construction qualified for Governor Hulls new Executive Order that provides additional funding via payback over the next 8 years. Identical to a site-built structure, this K-5 educational facility includes 23 classrooms, a gymnasium, media center, complete kitchen, multi-purpose space, and administrative offices. Though housed in one large building, the varying roof parapets and pitched concrete roofing give the building diversity in elevation and the brick veneer wainscot adds aesthetic appeal, while helping to minimize maintenance and withstand the rigors of having children around the buildings perimeter.
